Outstanding Contribution of the Year

2017 has undoubtedly been a year of huge change in the Cardiff Music Scene, and that’s in huge part been down to a dedicated following in the city. Spearheading this all year was a group of volunteers who decided to stand up for their city and the music within.

From a march through the city, to the Agent Of Change principle being adopted by the Welsh Government, to the announcement that Cardiff is to become a Music City during the next few years – the first of it’s kind in the UK. The future seemed bleak at the start of 2017, but as 2018 began, Cardiff seemed stronger than ever thanks to its people.

This year the inaugural Outstanding Contribution award will of course be given to the team behind Save Womanby St

About Us

Who we are

The Cardiff Music Awards is a project designed to promote, recognise and celebrate music in the Welsh capital. Its aim is to reinforce how healthy the scene is by getting hundreds, if not thousands, of people involved in one major honour roll for Cardiff music.

The third Cardiff Music Awards took place on 29th March 2018 at Tramshed Cardiff.

Launching in 2015, the first Cardiff Music Awards was a grassroots project with no funding that brought together multiple creators and promoters of music to be awarded their inaugural titles.

In its second year, the project expanded its horizons with more categories, a better nomination process and an awards ceremony that aimed to be a significant event in the local music calendar.
