Judging Panel 2019

Judges balance out the “popular vote” by providing industry insight into the Cardiff music scene. They are not allowed to nominate or vote for any act, person or organisation they are themselves involved in or with.

All past finalists and judges were asked if they would like to participate as judges and some new judges were added due to their contribution to the Cardiff Music Scene either by contacting us or vice versa. A public call was put out to build the judging panel.

In 2018 the Cardiff music scene was dealt another massive blow with more closures of popular gigging venues such as Buffalo and Gwdihw Café. Outstanding Contribution of The Year 2018 Announced

After an overwhelming response during the nomination process, it was clear who would be awarded the first Outstanding Contribution award in 2018. The award replaces the Person of the Year category to recognise more than just an individual in the Cardiff music scene.

We’re happy to announce the winner of the Outstanding Contribution of the Year award in 2018 is the team behind Save Womanby Street.

 

A group of volunteers led by workers based on the street and music lovers in the capital came together to counter the threat to one of Cardiff’s most musical streets.

Cardiff Music Awards 2018 Date Confirmed

Cardiff’s biggest night in music has been announced as 29 March 2018.

 

Nominations will open at 12pm on the 8th of November and close on the 31st of January, which gives you almost two whole months to get your nominations in.

The Cardiff Music Awards recognises the achievements, success and talents of organisations and individuals who have helped enhance Cardiff’s unique and diverse music scene.

The awards will take place once again at Tramshed Cardiff on Thursday 29th March 2018. Please keep the date clear in your diaries. We’re especially lucky, as it’s a bank holiday the day after, no excuses to miss […] Read more
